morbid-ness//

i have read you can choose an afterlife and ghost for philippine literature in english. the texts made me think of things i don't usually think about.. like death and the afterlife. i dunno.. maybe it's the afterlife thingy and the question, if you had an afterlife, what would it be? it kinda reminded me of the lovely bones; susie salmon's "heaven" or what we call the afterlife, is the upper class neighborhood she wanted to live at when she was alive. i won't detail it here, but she had vogue magazines for textbooks and jazz and dance for classes. so, at first i thought of my afterlife to be perpetual high school minus all the studies. i mean, just forever staying at age sixteen. but then, it suddenly occured to me that the afterlife i wanted was somewhere where there is constant change. i don't want to be in the same place, hang out with the same people, and do the same things everyday of my afterlife. it would be boring, wouldn't it? it was a teeny bit hard to think of an afterlife you would want to have. whoa, i'm young and alive.. then i have to think of things beyond death.

morbid, right?

i asked my cousin that question while i was writing about my afterlife. he said that he would want to be in a field. y'know the close-up commercial with the boy, the girl, the jet plane, and the rain? yep, that kind of field. not a rice field. wala lang, just sharing. :)

what if today you're so alive then tomorrow you suddenly found yourself floating into nothingness? you're numb and confused. you don't know what to do. how does dying feel? does it hurt, or when the moment of death comes you feel nothing? is there really life after death? do the dead have feelings? for us, the living, we go through the stages and accept things eventually. what about them? di ba nakakalungkot isipin na wala ng nakakaalala sa'yo?

sabi nga ni ms. g, "the young think of death as a sad thing.." or something to that effect.

admit it. things like that cross your mind sometimes. :)

+this one's for my lolo, lola, and a close family friend who's one year death anniversary is coming up. may they all rest in peace.+

ciao.
