yesterday was the annual paskuhan event of ust. the event was really fun! my friends and i all attended, and some of our blockmates were there, too. sadly, there were just a few of us (from our block, i mean). there was a mass before officially beginning that event. noon lang ako naka-attend ng mass where all the people sa field are scattered. as in, there were people standing, sitting on the grass.. anyway, after the mass was the lighting of the giant christmas tree. then there was the fireworks display. worth 50,000 (!) daw yun.. it was so beautiful. i think it lasted for about 10 minutes. hala, yung mga tao kanya-kanyang kuha ng videos and pictures nun.. kamusta naman. ang ganda nga kasi nung fireworks display. hehe.. so after nun dance troupes from different colleges performed. after naman may mga bands naman na tumugtog. yung ibang bands nakakatuwa din kasi may pumipiyok.. haha.. ang naaalala ko lang na bands dun are kiko machine, join the club, and this band who named themselves tubig (tama ba? basta sila yung may pumipiyok na vocalist!).. so creative. wahahaha.. i guess the band who really caught the attention of the crowd is kiko machine (opinion..). ang performance level naman.. hmpf. they remind me of parokya ni edgar (opinion..). kasi parang nang-gagago ng english nila, then may pa-sayaw-sayaw din sila ala parokya.. basta. something to that effect. may costumes pa sila, red overalls then may isa silang member who's wearing a spiderman costume. their songs are all loud, with a lot of screaming.. their songs are also catchy, with themes like val sotto and a desire to be on the cover of pulp magazine. (okaay.. parang review ito..). so anyway, after them was join the club, the most famous band that night(though i have never heard any of their songs.. pero sige, maki-ride na lang..). i think they performed all their original songs, except for the last song (ang huling el bimbo) which they sang with slightly modified lyrics. kiko machine and join the club both proclaimed that they're thomasians. i don't know about the other bands. maybe they are.. join the club was the last ones to perform for the paskuhan. we all left the field at around 11 pm; my tita, tito, and my cousins came at around 11:30 to fetch me. i didn't wait long for them because after leaving the field we went to benavides park and the arc of the centuries to take pictures.
